While the new Gunlance moves probably excite me the most, I have a soft spot for the Ignition greatsword, so we’re going to be talking about the GS next.
As before, here’s the tweet:

The most impressive part that video for me personally is the attack that immediately follows grappling onto the monster with the clutch claw. It’s a massive, devastating-looking hit. While most of the greatsword’s swings are legitimately brutal animations, smashing a monster in the head and using the weight of your body to drive the blade through is a pretty strong contender for the top spot. It’s absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to use it.
The other piece of information that interests me is the reference to an ‘improved True Charge Slash’. There’s no information about what’s changed in the trailer, but I can think of a couple of ways they could spice it up – faster charge time, more damage, some sort of armour effect during so you can’t be knocked out of it or take heavily reduced damage, and (my personal favourite, but unlikely) the attack hits multiple times as the blade cleaves through.
There isn’t anything else in this video that Capcom hasn’t talked about already, but since they’re feeling chatty perhaps we’ll get more information in the days leading up to, during, and after E3. If there’s anything interesting, expect a post or two – unless I get distracted or I forget.
