EA announces Origin Access for PC, at $4.99 a month

It’s essentially a subscription service for Origin, which gives players access to free EA games.

Presently available in the US, Canada, the UK, and Germany, Origin Access launches with 15 games, among which are Dragon Age Inquisition, Battlefield 4, The Sims 3, and This War of Mine. I haven’t been able to figure out much about it because the service isn’t available in India – so all I get a lovely coming soon page.

You might be able to see it, though, so perhaps go through whatever EA’s said there, as well as the FAQs?

Personally, I can’t see myself subscribing to Origin Access. Compared with something like say, an Xbox Live Gold subscription – which gave me Thief and Van Helsing in December 2015, and the Ultimate Evil Edition of Diablo 3 at a terrific discount – I don’t see Origin being able to offer the same sortĀ of value.

If Steam launched something like this I’d probably jump right on it, simply because of how extensive the library is and how much they’ll be able to offer. But Origin? Right now, the only thing I’m feeling is meh.
